Our story

Life’s biggest celebrations deserve some breathing room.

The Acre is a 1940’s west Texas farmhouse located in Abilene. Lush green grass, over 50 trees, pasture fences and a lazy creek set the stage for life’s events. Strings of Edison bulbs, weathered picnic tables and the songs of cicadas give the feel of a remote, rural setting hidden in the heart of town.

The Acre is a 48 hour rental for your big day. Most couples simply want time with their loved ones- time to prepare, moments to savor, room to not just celebrate, but fellowship! Our vision is to provide a venue where families feel as if they are hosting guests at their own home.

From Our HEarts

We’re blessed to work at nearby Abilene Christian University and serve in a vibrant faith community. The Acre hosts thousands of students each school year through events large and small. Hospitality of this scale has helped us best understand how to make people feel welcome, cherished and at ease. Our home was meant to be shared! We’d love to share it with y’all.
